Shopping Tips

    Cannes shopping

The Cannes shops are concentrated between La Croisette and rue d'Antibes; a distance easily covered on foot. Shopping in Cannes is all about big name designers and you will definitely find every high-end designer you can think of here, from Armani to Versace. Some have been there for years, others have come in more recently. Boulevard de la Croisette is home to the vast majority of designer boutiques. If Chanel is out of your price range, you can also find several department stores, big flea markets, and a less expensive shopping street, rue d'Antibes. The rue Meynadier is another attractive part of the city. This is the place for neighborhood shopping in Cannes. In streets reserved for pedestrians, clothes shops and food stores stand next to regional specialty shops.

Shopping centers

Galerie Gray d'Albion (Gray Street) is the biggest shopping centre in Cannes. It is filled with the kind of chic boutiques you would expect to find in the city. La Perla lingerie, jewelry, wristwatches and even paintings are just some of the goods on offer. Ideally situated between Rue d'Antibes and La Croisette seafront, the centre also has a number of cafés. The other luxury shopping center in Cannes on La Croisette, after the Gray d'Albion, is Galerie Marchande du Noga Hilton, located inside the majestic and modern Noga Hotel. The arcade includes several Cannes shops, like the famous hairdresser Jacques Dessange, the Maison du Caviar, and the Bogota Gold collection: gold reproductions of antique jewelry from Bogota Museum. Near the train station in the heart of Cannes, Galeries Lafayette has a small branch. It's noted for the upscale fashion in its carefully arranged interiors. The La Bocca district, just to the west of Cannes, has a large number of superstores and shopping centers, selling furniture, sports gear and more.

Cannes bests shops

Like said, a wide array of international designer shops line La Croisette, including Chanel, Dior and Gucci. A Jean-Paul Gaultier can be found in the Gray d'Albion arcade. Rue d'Antibes has the best confiseries, chocolatiers and delicacies, including Chez Bruno (crystallized fruit and marrons glacés), and Maiffret (chocolates made on the premises). Rue Meynadier is a bustling street with a market atmosphere and Cannes stores with bargain prices. The best cheese in town is sold at Ceneri. Cannolive is good for small gifts, Ciné-Folie for film festival posters. La Vendange des Moines wines and Lérins liqueurs are a boat trip away on Ile St Honorat, or are sold at La Cave Forville. You also should not miss the Marché Forville (Forville Market), situated between the town hall and the railway tracks. Here you will find locally grown flowers, fruit and vegetables and the fish on sale are from the day's catch. Nearby is the colorful flower market, on Allées de la Liberté.
