Capri public transport & taxis

The Capri public transport system is very efficient, and links all of the areas accessible by road. Much of the island is dedicated to pedestrian areas. Capri taxi

Taxi stands are located at the port, in the Piazzetta, and many other places where tourists gather. When taxis are not transporting clients, they can be hailed along the road by the wave of a hand. Capri taxi drivers are usually extremely courteous and more than willing to drive customers all around the island. 
The taxis (in perfect condition and sparklingly clean), are often open-top vehicles, so it’s a good way to enjoy the beautiful views of the island.

Capri busses and bus station

The main bus station is located in the Piazetta. Little orange Capri busses run frequently. 
Tickets can be purchased directly on board, at the Funicular railway ticket office in Marina Grande, or at the main bus station. Tickets are valid for all forms of public transport. There are 3 types of ticket available: corsa singola (single), orario (hourly) and giornaliero (daily).

Capri Ferry

You can take the Capri ferry or hydrofoil from either Naples or Sorrento. From Naples, the ferry takes about 80 minutes and costs about 9,00 EUR . The hydrofoil takes half the time and costs 16,00 EUR. There will also be a small fee for each sizeable baggage item that you take with you on the Capri ferry. The baggage fee is paid at the time of ticket purchase, and you will be given a special ticket for each bag.
