Hamburger Kunsthalle
The most important art museum in Hamburg is located next to the trainstation Glockengiesserwall. The collection has artwork from the Middle Ages up untill the present. Maritimes museum in Hamburg

The expositions in the Internationalen Maritimes Museum Hamburg tell stories about discovering and conquering, captains and sailors – an expedition through 3000 years of history. The portrayal of the comprehensive collection of marine-art, reports and documents give a vivid testimony of history and it’s people. In this world of the sea, documented through authentic exhibits, the visitor is taken below the surface of the ocean. Over several decades, Professor Peter Tamm senior has collected about 26,000 ship models, 50,000 construction plans, 5,000 paintings and graphics, more than 2,000 films, 1.5 million photos, 120,000 books and numerous nautical devices, historical uniforms, militaries and maritime objects. These objects are displayed on 10 stories and 11,000 square meters exhibition space.
